Carl Ehrhard produces wine in the Rheingau, a place that has been described as the ideal place to grow riesling. The best Rheingau vineyards sit on the north bank of the Rhein River facing south with the mountains behind creating a natural sun bowl. The latitude of the region means the climate is cool but because of maximum sun exposure the grapes are able to fully ripen over a long growing season. The wines retain their zippy acidity but are packed with ripe fruit flavors.
